Visa
Hi,
I'm willing to participate to "RootsTech Innovator Showdown" but the Semi-finalists and finalists will be required to attend RootsTech in Salt Lake City. My question: i live in Morocco and i need a visa to enter the USA (in case of being a Semi-finalist), is "Devpost" or "RootsTech" can help me in this matter? for example sending me an invite or anything to make the process of getting the visa possible.
Thank you
Mounir.

Hi Mounir. This is a great question.
Invitations to people being considered as a semi-finalist will go out in early December. If this helps your visa, great, but we wont have any way to proactively influence anything on our end. We would need a confirmation that you can make it to Salt Lake City by mid-December (i think the 19th), so it will be a very short window of opportunity between getting invited, and needing to confirm. If we cannot confirm you can travel, you won't make it into the semi-final round.
I do wish you the best! We've had participants from other countries each year we've done this competition, and it has always been a real pleasure to work with friends internationally.

Thank you David for your answer, but unfortunately just to get an appointment in the embassy you need to wait 2-3 weeks.

What if you apply now? It's probably enough for them to know the purpose and intent whether you actually end up flying out or not, right?

they need the "required documents based on visa class" + paying the visa fees
